TMT (Thermo-Mechanically Treated) bars are heat-treated high-strength rebar with a hard outer core and a soft inner core. And it is also known as the metallurgical process. These TMT bars are manufactured to IS (Indian Standard) standards. In today’s market, FE 500 and FE 500D TMT bars are most commonly used for all high-rise buildings’ retail construction purposes. TMT rods are thermo-mechanically treated using world-leading high-yield strength technology. In this process, a series of water jets rapidly quench the hot bar after it rolls out from its final stand. The bar cools down, equalizing core and surface temperatures. The rod core cools slowly and becomes a ferrite-pearlite aggregate.
